Just had the back uprights blasted and powder coated. They look a lot better than before and was wondering if there was any benefit hammeriting over the top to improve the look and would it offer any further protection..... comments???

Best thing to use is West systems epoxy resin or similar ,as when it hardens it not coming off ever and you will never see the rust again then , stonechip paint spray on high impact areas then a thin coat of smoothwrite , mixing silver and grey gets a similar colour to the early chassis and white and grey for the later chassis. Then after a good few weeks of proper cure time waxoyle ( clear ).

I have just had my chassis done on my Chim. New sections welded in, shotblasted, powder coated and the whole lot hammorited before wax-oiling.

IMHO, it does improve the look of the chassis and it will offer a little extra protection.

The beauty of hammorite is that even though it only offers a little extra protection, its cheap and easy to apply, therefore you actually get value for money out of applying it to your tivver.

That chassis looks fantastic.

I used a clear boat varnish over one chassis I had powder coated (I had it colour powder coated so didn't want to apply any more colour).
It lasted very well and didn't peel or chip.

I had some corrosion protection work done in Germany on the chassis of my Chimaera.
The German guy told me Hammerite is not ideal as it is not flexible enough and so can crack.
I dont know how correct his comments were but it stuck in my head.
For the full chassis work done above I guess that this would not be an issue as it is only one of three stages of protection.
