Brake upgrade options...
Discussion
...so, the next thing on my list is a brake upgrade.
I have rebuilt the standard 4.2 set-up and they seem very good, however I did experience severe brake fade on a recent track day, I need to investigate this as it may be due to issue with the wheel hub running out of true rather than the brakes themselves.
However, it's got me thinking.
There must be plenty of people out there who've been down this route.
What's the biggest/most efficient set up, I know those two may not necessarily be the same. What are the options re: bells, disks, calipers makers etc?
I'm running RL17 so they must fit under them, as that's what I'll be running for at least the next couple of seasons.
Many thanks
Tim

I got Andy to upgrade me to 4.5 spec brakes, some 4.5 callipers were needed (got Jonny's old ones since he moved to 6 pots) and I then had Tuscan S one piece disk rather than having to source bells for rotors. Andy then made up (or had lying around) an adaptor to space the callipers out properly. It's not the ultimate track spec by any means but a nice easy and relatively cost effective upgrade path and a definite step up. The Tuscan disc is 323mm from memory - With more wonga think you can go out to a 330 or even 335 but that I think means, bells/rotors, more spacing and more expensive discs (I assume). Andy can also supply the same 6 pot set that has gone on to Jonny's car (he was trying to get me to do that) but it's pretty pricey and would have been way overkill for my needs.

Ive never understood the reasoning for going to 6 pots for even track day use except for pose value through the wheel, in fact we cope on our T350 very well with 4 pots and 330mm discs and we have very good aero so we're generating way more braking/tyre effort than you would ever do on a road/track day car. 4.5 4 pots, alloy bells, 330mm discs and decent pads is all you should ever need.
