Ladies and Gents,

I've started a separate thread, so that this doesn't get lost amongst the noise and pictures of the thread for last weekend's excellent Marham Track Day events. Although I co-ordinate participation for another forum for these events now, I started the whole thing off a few years ago when I was at Marham and brought PHEA into the fold (who are now the major paticipants!) by enticing gtr-gaz, otherwise known as the excellent Gary Grist, into acting as the PHEA co-ordinator.

Gary now wishes to stand down from that role, as he has sold the delicious Ultima and has another major project (non-car related) on the go which means that he won't be able to devote the time needed to co-ordinate for the next one. So, it falls to me to do two things.

Firstly, many sincere thanks to Gary for his time and effort in co-ordinating the PHEA participation in all of the Marham Track Day weekends held since their inception. It is all "behind the scenes" work, gathering in everyone's details, payments etc, liasing with Marham to make sure that they are all in on time, and posting details on the forum of what is happening. Quite simply, without that work, the participation either wouldn't happen, or people would find themselves being turned away at the gate because of some administrative cock-up. That's never happened, so again a hearty round of thanks to Gary for that.

Secondly, this now naturally begs the question of who from PHEA would like to volunteer to take over the role? With the next Marham Track Day weekend likely in around 4 months time and the holiday period leading up to that, I wouldn't be surprised if the timelines for having everything sorted come forward, so it makes sense to ask for a volunteer now. I'll let the organisers know of the change in due course, once it is sorted out who it is to be. So, volunteers please!

Sad to hear Gary is taking a back seat. frown

I'd love to do it but Scott & I are moving out of East Anglia at the end of the Summer, so it probably should go to a local, not us nomadic types.

Just as long as whoever takes over the role gets us into Marham everytime, let the nominations start! thumbup

I would love to do it but I am completely inept at admin. I cant get my car taxed at the moment as I have lost all the important bits of paper.

Good luck with your search.

Right I think I will stick my neck out and volunteer for the job. I've been a member of PH for only a short while but I enjoy all the forums, banter, arguing etc etc. I was also present for the first ever 2 track days at Marham and also took part in them on my CBR6RR.

I'm currently an instructor here at sunny Marham and I plan to be around for a good few years yet as I have a very young family and I am getting married in Oct so am already settling down in the region. Finally I am a Petrol Head first and foremost so I will give it 100% to see some horse power lighting up the dull skies of norfolk!

There, thats my sales pitch over and done with Mark, what do you reckon?

Thanks for that Mark.

It's been a pleasure being so involved with the Marham track days over the last couple of years. The staff at Marham have all been excellent smilesmile

Unfortunately, my typing and computer skills are very limited and the continual expansion of PH attendance has stretched me a bit, as well as now being Ultima-less!

I have recently been in contact with Ian (alais B'stard Child) who only yesterday evening volunteered for the job!!

I was going to advise of the development myself today but, an early start this morning meant I did not get a chance.
DoctorFan, your position seems ideal, if Ian changes his mind can you step in? smile

Gary contacted me last month - so I've had a bit of time to mull it over and I figured there wouldn't be too many people who volunteer for the role so as I already successfully co-ordinate the ABS and their guests participation it wouldn't be too much effort to add another forum to the list (Keeping it all separate of course) And in a way it will simplify the organisers tasks with less people to contact

I know PH had the largest number of spaces allocated so it's likely to be a busy role but I'm hoping my organisational skills are able to cope

Can I propose a solution incorporating DoctorFan?

I'm still happy to take it on but I'd happily take up the offer of help from doctorfan in the task. It might need some fine details working out but I was more concerned with covering annual holidays etc - if the next event is in mid Sept then the mid August is the deadline and that may clash with a holiday....

Comments from Mark, Gary or Doctorfan welcome

Thanks for volunteering guys! Sounds like an excellent plan to me - both Ian and Doctorfan working together is probably the best bet as, no matter how settled one wants to be, a short notice RAF detachment or crisis could easily create another unintended crisis. My money goes on Ian and Doctorfan (presumably a reference to the good Mr Rossi?) liaising direct to decide how best to split the tasks, or however they wish to manage it between them. If you could each PM me with your e-mail addresses, then I'll forward them on to the organisers so that you are put on the list of co-ords.

Many thanks again to Gary for his past work and thanks in advance to the new volunteers.

Phew, that was easy!

Well done for all your efforts Gary; I know what it's like just administering a car show so the trackdays must have been quite a load.

Hi all, apologies for the late replies I've been busy at the weekend so I have had little chance to get on the site. Yep the nickname is a ref to Valentino.

I'm all up for halving the work load required along with B'stard Child so no worries there.thumbup

Thanks - I'll leave it to you to contact Ian (aka B'stard Child) by PM to work out how you can best divide up the work load and help each other out with it. As you are at Marham already, I'll also leave it to you to contact Nick Howard and George Denman with the details for the pair of you.

You might also want to track down Adrian Lockyer in the CMU - I have had a separate note from him offering to help as well. All the best for now,
