Any thoughts? A couple of grand over the standard price, but looks good.

Sorry, top right.

Given the usual price guidance on trade-in that extras dont add anything to the price, they are chancing their arm a smidge.

Bike comes out of the factory with OEM exhaust and OEM ECU. Optimised for the setup of the bike.

DemonTweeks boy goes and buys full Akro system, this upsets the ECU, and the Power Commander basically remaps it to make ti all work together again.

Thanks - everyday is a school day. My price bracket for bikes is nowhere near that.

Well, weather permitting, I might. Does look nice, but it is a lot of cash and will represent my last purchase for a while!

technical correction: fitting an akro system doesn't actually *upset* the ECU, as the full system doesn't run a lambda sensor to send any information on fuelling back to the ECU.

The factory ECU will be set to run a set amount of fuel, which effectively means slightly leaner with the freer flowing exhaust. A power commander is placed between the ECU and the injectors (aka, a 'piggy back' ECU) and intercepts the signal and modifies the amount of time the injectors need to open for to deliver the correct amount of fuel. The correct amount of fuel is calculated by a rolling road session where a wide band lambda sensor is used.

as you were....

Well he's had a couple of reliable gixers and a hedge-bound R6, it's time he tried something Italian.

Chilli, your last Yamaha ended up in trees. Bad vibes, man, bad vibes.

hasnt randy already bought some other non-1098s Italian peice of junk? Im sure he said he had.

Though things come pre-oil-slicked, so that should save him some time.

Not worth it in a million years.

Buy a nice year old for £6k and you could do a lot more with the spare cash to personalise the bike.

Worth £8k tops.
