I'm just looking around to see who's best placed to do the leak fix for my vxr8.

there's pro's and cons to a few. The bugger is that I'm in cambridge so all dealers over an hour away.
Car was originally bought from Browns in loughton and although I've no complaints they are in the middle of nowhere and takes 3 hours to get there on public transport (the joys of the central line).

the next one is in kings lynn. No experience of them but they are on a direct express line so is quicker by train than car. How would people rate this one? Not after specifics but would like to know peoples opinions.

I would like to tak it to greens as I'm convinced the service there is second to none but obviously it's quite far (1:30 - 1:45) and would need a courtesy car but understand they are pretty reasonable with them.

The leaks reported on here so far seem to come from the door plastic liner/seal. If yrs is a Monaro then its likely to be that to and TBH its so easy to take yr door trims off and fix it yourself you may as well do it yourself.... ?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is the opinion i am coming to also. It seems that the only people who give two hoots about Monaros are few and far between.... we all know who they are, but they are not on everyone's door step are they?

I am near Cambridge and have used the dealer to which you refer. I wouldn't again.

Don't go anywhere near Kings Lynn. I bought my 04 cv8 from them and have had problems with them. Took her in for a 40k service last year & asked to have the gearbox looked at coz 5th was playing up. When I picked up the car they tried to charge me for 13!!! litres of engine oil, a new air filter (which they hadn't replaced) then told me they couldn't do anything with the box and it would cost £7985!!!! to replace excluding fitting.
Anyone know a good gearbox overhauler coz it's still playing up & getting worse.

Have you had the G. Box oil changed to something decent with a friction modifier possibly added... this solves alot of box problems.... If not have a chat with one of the tuners here - Monk Fish, Rapid...sure they can help with oil and a box.

Nah - vxr8. On another thread there apparently is a tech not saying the underbody and wheel arch sealing used cheese and lets in water.

Point the car west down the A421 and don't stop until you get to Monkfish. Its the only way! I wouldst go anywhere else.

I can vouch for Motorbodies (Vauxhall Masterfit Centre) who are near Luton Airport. Very professional outfit - they diagnosed a fault with my gearbox, sourced a new one, and replaced it within 48 hours. They even gave me a courtesy car. They also replaced my climate control under warranty, again with no issues. All their technicians seem to know their stuff.

You should do it within an hour as it's under 40 miles according to Google.

I use Monkfish rather than a franchised dealer. From my experience and having read on this forum of the general dissatisfaction with the dealer network, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. However, my car is out of warranty anyway now, so all expenditure is down to me.
