just find one for sale locally and look in the boot, a picture will only show you so much.

Drop me an email at work (alex@fontain.co.uk) to remind me and I'll happily do you a picture or dimensions if you need.

I did a quick check for you,

audi dealers in grimsby, lincoln and derby seem to be overrun with the things

Sorry - thanks for the replies guys - I found one at a local specialist dealers (Kevin Martins) and checked it out - with the roof up the protector rises to create a decent boot I believe?

It looked big enough for the pushchair?!?!

That's correct, roof closed and you get slightly more boot space. Couldn't comment for all push chairs (check yours fits) but I have had customers bring them down to check and they've gone in fine.

I had one last summer - with the roof up, and the roof-box bit "switched up" out of the way, there was plenty of room in the boot for a pushchair (umbrella folding stroller type) and plenty of shopping. In fact I found that the boot was more useable than that of an A4 Avant. Don't recall trying it with the roof-box switched down though!

How is it possible that the boot is more useable on a cab than an estate?!

Dunno - doesn't exactly make sense, but I seemed to be able to get things in it more easily! (only up to the load cover on the estate obviously)

Baby-buggies are awkward things though, and the boot-space on an A4 Avant is a lot smaller than you'd think...

I reckon the the boot of a Golf is bigger/more practical than an A4 avant personally

Interesting you say that as we have both - the boot is actually def bigger on the a4 but there is more room in the back seats of the golf!
