try a broker like:
Manning
a plan
heritage
or hagerty

they are lot cheaper for low milage, and some give you free track day cover.
but they usually want you to have an other car, a garage and be over 25 (which i guess you are with 8yrs no claims)

i'm 26 and pay £375 for 5k miles

A Flux - get 25% off if you do a Ride Drive course, which in itself is superb value for money and really good driver training. Good insurance service level as well.

Alternatives - Competition Car Insurance, Sunninghill.

Performance Direct are very good indeed, though not as cheap as Tesco
