Booking my CBT in the morning for as soon as possible, so just wondering any pointers or tips or whatever people might have for it??

Going to be the first time ever on a motorbike, only really sat on one in the showroom and thats it! So a bit unsure as to what to expect really!

Hoping to do my DAS afterwards tho, so will most likely get a little 125 after my CBT to help towards gaining more experience for the final test.

Cheers smile

Just relax and enjoy mate. It realy isn't a test, more on an introduction to the bike. No drama's. Have a good one, and let us know how you get on.

Cheers.

Did mine a week ago and best bit of advice I can think of is to take your time. There are no prizes for being first to complete a CBT. Enjoy it and good luck.

As someone who didn't complete their first CBT, I can only offer simple advice.

Don't put yourself under pressure to do it "first time", like I did - it only served to wind me up further. Take your time, enjoy it and just see how it goes.

Plenty of people do not complete their CBTs first time. Some do, but there's no shame in not - just enjoy and learn from the experience.

Don't be put off by the carpark phase. Wobbling around with hardly any room at low speed with others doing the same is no fun at all but it does get better out on the road.

I wanted to go home at lunch time when I did mine, glad I didn't after the raod bit (despite it chucking it down).

Tricky,

i don't know, that was the best bit, emergency stops aiming at the big metal gates into Catford Greyhound Stadium knowing some other arenalin fuelled junkie was steaming up next to you with the same fear .. and CG125 brakes are pants, especially when they have a 17st lump to low down .. lol

As others have said, just relax and when you get on th road, don't get target fixaton on the large rear wheels of the first bus you spot ... you'l only ride into them .... lol

I nearly rammed the front wheel into my instructor's bks when I attempted my 1st emergency stop. Completely overshot the 'breaking point' causing him to dive out of the way biggrin

Don't think my test centre helped. It was super small not even really room for 2nd and on a steep slope, so the U turns and figure of 8s were effectively done on some crazy cambers.

Did mine yesterday, was good fun. (Well it hurt loads atually, some nutter drove into me headon the night before in my car. Wrong way around a roundabout. Don't want to even think what would have happened if I was on a bike)

Used UMT in Newport/Cardiff. Very good guys and girls, even let me out on a 500 at the end. Chap said I'd need a 3 day DA course to get my license, so that good news.
