Just done first day of (Aus) Learner Test!
Discussion
Struggled at almost everything, being first time i have properly ridden a bike (the last time i was on one was probably over 20 years ago and I don't even remember it).
Biggest trouble was to squeeze the knees in but relax the upper body (not helped by waking with the stiffest right shoulder in the world for some reason this morning!
) so turning was very "notchy". When i got it right i tried to think what i did for the next turn, and of course then stuffed that one up! Hard to let your brain relax and "flow" when it is all new.
Also with wrist position on the throttle and mastering the gearbox without getting a false neutral from first to second. I think i was not being firm enough, too snappy and made the box think i wanted neutral.
Second day (and test to get P plates) is tomorrow. Any tips i can read overnight to think about? Mastering the gearchange will take me a fair while i think for a totally smooth change. It is more the turning and smooth throttle that i think i need to concetrate on for this.
What do you guys think..? Thanks ~PHIL

Where in NSW are you?
Because if you want a belting ride, the Putty Road is brilliant.
The second bit from the "Halfway Truck Stop" is the more challenging road, and there's some great other roads around Broke, Wollemi and Pokolbin.

I definitely need practice though, so case of getting a bike and getting some kms under my belt! And choosing some new gear!
