Just a quick reminder of our meeting at the new venue this Sunday the 20th.

Anyone up for leading a run in from South Mimms?

Hoover.

If travelling from the South, continue past J10 of the A1.

About a mile after J10 you will see a BP garage (on both sides of the A1 actually). Shortly after the BP garage (200 yards) you will see a turn off marked Astwick. Turn left down there - the pub is in this very tiny hamlet (forgotten the name of the pub though).

Tudor Oaks
Taylors Road
Astwick

www.tudoroakslodge.co.uk

Directions

From South - Take A1(M) to junction 10 where it becomes the A1 as you drive over the junction you will come to the brow of a hill and at the bottom you will see two BP petrol stations either side of the road. Prepare to slow down and indicate as you get level with the garage on the northbound side, the first entrance into the venue is Taylors Road is only about 100 yds on from the garage, if you miss this the next (sharp) turn into the lodge comes up in about another 100 yds and for the very clumsy there is a third entrance after about 200 yds. If you miss all three go up the hill to the Langford turn off and follow the signs for the A1(M) and south, rejoin the A1 going in the wrong direction, wave to us as you go past back to junction 10 where you can turnaround and try again.

From North – As you come down the A1 you will see a BP garage on your left, the Tudor Oaks is directly opposite but teasingly you can’t crossover to it, continue on the A1 to Junction 10 (Baldock Services) and use the junction to turn around and head north and then follow the directions above (from South)

From East - Take A10 to Royston and pick up the A505 to Baldock, go through the tunnel and at the end of the dual carriageway there is a large roundabout. Take the 1st exit onto a short piece of dual carriageway and then onto a large roundabout with traffic lights. Take the 3rd exit onto the A1(M) north and then follow the directions above (from South)

From West - Pick up the A505 Stotfold bypass to Junction 10 (Baldock Services) and travel North on the
A1(M) and then follow the directions above (from South).

From South West - Pick up the A507 from Luton towards Hitchin. Take directions to A602 towards Stevenage and A1(M) at the motorway roundabout after the bypass take the 2nd exit (left) onto the motorway and head North and then follow the directions above (from South).

There were a few TVRs in the car park about 11:30 when I passed by. I'd have stopped in, but I'd already been up for nearly 40 hours (travelling from Northern Pennsylvania) and was desperate to get home to bed. Besides, SWMBO would have killed me if I'd suggested stopping to look at TVRs. Hope you all had a good time.

Was good to see the new venue, however the visit was all too brief from my point of view. Regrettably I brought SWMBO and hooligan no.1, who informed me that we had "plans" for the afternoon.

Still, met S1-PEN to thank him for the thread on my shiny new wheel nuts and had a good lunch in the pub.

Will have to leave them behind next time.

Yep - I also stopped too briefly. As I was reminded biggrin this was the second time I'd found myself with to little time en-route to lunch in Linconshire! So little time that I didn't want to shut down the engine as recently the old hot-start issue has arisen and I haven't got round to fitting the kit yet. smile (Hmmm..thinks: that would have been a good excuse for staying longer! wink )

Congrats to all involved in finding what seems to be a great new venue. The cars looked better than they did in the much smaller George car-park at Baldock. Good to see growing numbers, familiar faces and cars (Nicky, that Cerb ALWAYS looks the mutts nuts and stands out wherever I see it!)

Away next month but hopefully back for June (or see some at Chatsworth next Sunday). Nick
