Anyone fitted a silenced de-cat?

Had my S1 Elise noise tested yesterday and horrified to learn it was 103dB!
It'll be OK for Pembrey next weekend (105dB limit) but I'll need to make it quieter for other circuits (I want to do Donnington and Bedford - 98Db limits).
As I understand, my options are;
1) Reinstall the Cat
2) Buy and install a sports cat (don't know much about these)
3) Buy and install a silenced de-cat pipe.
The car has an EBD manifold and Eliseparts Hi-flow exhaust with K&N induction, otherwise std.
I want to bring the car safely under the 98dB level and don't want to stifle too much of the (very nice) sound or performance, if possible. I'd also like to know how easy the job is as I know I may need to re-fit the cat for the MOT.
