Police were speed-trapping yesterday, out of the back of a dirty old horse box, parked almost out of sight on the verge.
A mile further down the line, cars were getting pulled in regularly.
Straight road, good visibility.

GREAT!

NOT!

Pesky mo-fo's! Although saying that, if you were a copper and you wanted to catch drivers who REALLY exceed the speed limit, where would you go?

However, how many accidents occur along that stretch!? Not many to my knowledge...

Yep, it's a good stretch for testing whether your speedo needle sticks at high revs smile

Yeah.

That DC stretch is a notorious accident blackspot. Innit furious

Another that boils me p!ss is Otley Road past the new Shrewsbury football ground. For years and years it was a perfectly acceptable 60 limit. Now? 40 all that way from Meole Brace to Emstrey.

F!!ckers.

Tis actually 40 till the housing estate turnoff, then 50 till Weeping Cross island ....and then 60 thru the industrial estate roundabout down Thieves Lane to Emstrey.
Know what you mean though, think it was done primarily because of the increased pedestrian traffic round the New Meadow

ah yes of course, hadnt thought of that. i wonder if when nicked for speeding, one could use 'i was only trying to keep up with that Vectra Officer' as a defence lol. double stds if you ask me lol

Although in the end he got done for it IIRC ...but got an absolute discharge for the offence?

Lol, the officer in question lives, or lived on my estate... Not sure if he still does though, as I haven't seen him driving.

Otley Road; A very poorly implemented and inapropriate speed limit for that length of road. Its no wonder the police stated they won't enforce it wink
