Hi folks,

Please if able take time to read this

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Would genuinely appreciate kind efforts.

Asking here as so far not secured a car suitable for taking two but daughter would be also be delighted with a matching pair of cars.

Speaking to a family friend who has a few Ferraris but logistics may prove to be an issue.

Not expecting an offer of a pair of Enzos but thanks in optimistic anticipation.

Perfect excuse to show off perfomance sports exotica at a Summer Ball event at Fontwell Racecourse

Thanks again

try contacting one of the main dealers, proberely won't have a old car but will cetainly have sale cars. explain your situation and they may offer to drive t#your daughter and acomplice to the prom. are you near birmingham, manchester, edinburgh, London. these are the main lambo dealers, may have missed some though

I would need 2 cars unless it was a 4 seater- I can only guess the probable reply.

Friend/colleague had contact with a Jag/AM dealer but they refused even at highest level when willing staff member indicated willingness to oblige.

If anyone reading this cant help please spread the word to anyone who may be able to offer a solution - thanks.

I'm too far away to help but from the way you explained the situation in your original post, you come across as a decent guy wanting to make it a special event for your daughter. I hope you get sorted smile

Hi

I wish you all the best but really think with the cost of running these supercars, I for one had to stop doing these decent deeds in my Murci as people really just took the mickey. I did one run of 45 round miles and 2hrs of time and the guy offered £20..........

.......It costs more than £20 to START my car let alone move it!!!

In the end had no option but to start my event car website to avoid difficult situations. If you enter performance prom cars as one word with the W's and co.uk after and you'll find it.

Cheers guys

Thanks for offer re espada I will consider & get back with more comprehensive reply later.

As said not freeloading if I offered £20 I would expect to be asked to bend over ! LOL ...............Hence offer of return favour(s)- I'd happily run someone up north on day off to help collect a car for them at my own expense etc - move stuff in my car, provide bottles of champagne, pub meal & drinks etc.........or plain old cash but dont want to pay £500 for a 35 min trip. I'm not in denial and wouldnt insult folk on here at all any agreement would be up front.

Once again all sensible replies appreciated- thanks

Sorry - i would gladly get my Countach out for you.
But you are some miles away.

Would you like me to post your request in the ultra secret Lamborghini club forum, we've got some pretty nice chaps (and chapetts) in the Lambo club who may be able to help?

Regards

Ian

Same story here, would have got the roof down of the Ferrar 355 and done the trip but its a bit far.

You should have sent her to a Yorkshire school, people are great up here. I had a supercar convoy for my trip to church for my wedding! Was an awesome site, Porsches, Ferraris and TVRs with ribbons on them!

ianqv - Thanks so much for the kind comments/words and response..........( You have email).

Diavlo...............A superb modern day classic carbon fibre masterpiece - If serious,(I have seen your profile) thats a superb provisional offer thanks.

..............As stated folks my email is accesibale via my profiles and links to my posts.....please feel free to contact me in event anyone may be able to kindly assist.

If anyone would prefer to talk to me I will give my number to genuine emails.

I will be considering all kind offers and based not least on solidity of offer as I am keen to avoid disappointment from cancelation close to or on the night.

As stated before my daughter has a date/chaparone,(not her boyfriend/partner), however, although a perfectly respectable lad I suspect he, (or friends family), may not be in a position to secure such transport. I would also make similar offers of appreciation if securing an additional car but his folks may need to show their appreciation o me as I will be doing the legwork (grovelling) and showing my appreciation to owners(s)on the evening concerned.

I will strive to remain unselfish and thus dont really want to put him in position of being taken in my, ( albeit usually gleaming), BMW only for my daughter to arrive looking stunning and stepping out of a Ferrari or a Lambo !

That said - my daughter comes first, (as I found out yesterday when ordering her dress from a specialist boutique !)

Early days but genuine & sincere thanks for all responses to date.

Kind Regards

AW8

Thanks again to all for reposnses to date & sincere thanks to Diavlo - Granted a very nice offer indeed spin

Diavlo - with many thanks you have email.........If on reflection you feel unable to help or further reflection has caused you to revisit matters then I will not be offended.

In the event I am lucky enough to provisionally secure a 2 seater exotic & the date/chaprones parents won't match my gesture of goodwill to the owner(s) of a second car (or a second is unavailbale), then he will have to get a cab or slum it in my BMW or whatever wheels I may have at my dipsosal nearer the time.

Thats said its still early days and until things are confirmed they may both have to consider all options.

Just to confirm nothing confirmed as yet with anyone so fingers crossed.

Had a hell of a day with building contractors working - need to do some work later so probably off to bed for a power nap now like a serious lightweight !

Cheers Guys
