Have moved over from TVR to an Elise this year (quite a difference, jury out on preference) and am after recommendations on servicing garages, anyone got any recommendations for good guys? Different beast but I found that good indies were massively better than dealer franchise for TVR, so am looking for a good indie......
54k C-service is coming up in a couple of months so would appreciate any pointers..

I'd recommend Horizon Motorsport in Cradley Heath, nr Birmingham. Excellent knowledge and competitive prices.

You could always try Peter Smith in Hatton. smile Never had a problem with them myself.

Peter Smith reduced their rates last year. I've not used them for 2 years but will take my Exige there this year.

Horizon are the best but it is a bit of a hike from Derbyshire. Had my S1 Elise C service there 2 years ago.

Mine goes back to Christopher Neil usually, I don't mind the distance, as it's some great roads (when it's not chucking it down) from Derbyshire to them.

Depends which part of Derbyshire & what service - Peter Smiths (Sth Derbyshire) have reduced their prices & are now quite competitive with other Lotus dealerships, but there are some better deals around for bigger services.

Yeah, I've hooked up with Topgear, the motor is in with them now and I've got their slightly old and smelly (but free) vauxhall astra until friday morning. I'll post how the motor gets on with them.

Since my last comment has been edited, although not sure why because it was only the truth, I would add that I no longer use Paul Smith, and this is not for cost. I now use Nick Whale.

If anyone would like to know why them PM me

Got motor back from Topgear yesterday and handed back the lovely green astra. Very convenient service, I've been gobsmacked at times at how hard some garages make it to put your car in but TG were excellent, flexible on timings and happy to help. Service seems to have been good, car now feels a bit tighter, especially the brakes which they've done some work on. Very good service all round, very satisfied customer. Looks like they've got their hands full with some of the TVRs anyway..........
