Some advice if poss guys. I have recently had my exhaust re sealed from the front, at the manifold all the way back as it was leaking. However since the job was completed the car has developed a stutter or flat spot at low revs, doesnt matter what gear you are in when you put your foot down slowly there is nothing, then a bit more and it roars into life. Coupled with that the revs dont drop as quickly as the used to and hover around 1800 before finally coming back down to idle.
I have had a similar flat spot on an escort (not mine honest) that needed a new lamba sensor, and as the garage would have disturbed mine it is my prime suspect!
Does this sound right, or is there any way of checking it before spending £100 on a new one?
My other suspect is the throttle position sensor?
Any advice gladly welcomed as the car is now a pig to drive!

REallyyou need to get it hooked up to a Laptop, the Diags will then be able to better pinpoint any problems that you may have.

Thats what i thought but i looked at my ECU at the weekend and it doesnt have a port for a serial lead, just one big plug at the top. It also has writing on it saying it has had a 'new chip'. I will try and post a pic, but i think it has been played around with!

Have you removed the ECU cover? The serial port is inside the box.
