Product Suggestions for lowering a MGTF
Discussion
If you just want to opt for springs they I would go with Eibach, which are basically the same as the official 'X-Power' lowering springs as sold by MG but painted a different colour. They lowered my TF around 25mm at the front and 20 at the rear and gave a noticeable improvement in ride quality as well as reducing body roll. Ride height is just right to avoid grounding on speed humps too.
I've been using the Eibach springs and standard shocks for 3 years, but am now looking at changing the shocks too.
As for dampers, then there are quite a few options. Bilstien make a fixed rate damper designed to be used with standard springs, which are available from the MGOC or VHS (Vehicle Handling Solutions).
Spax sell adjustable dampers for the TF, and GAZ sell coilovers allowing height as well as dampening/rebound adjustment.
www.mikesatur.co.uk sells 2 variants of a spring/damper kit for the TF.
There is also the option of having fixed rate dampers custom made to match the rate of whichever spring your choose. This is the option I am going to investigate later in the year, after discovering the cost is not as much as I thought, and is comparable with the 'off the shelf' options.
