Not much help, but an observation...

On my old 1 series, you just held the locking button down to fold in the mirrors, same as closing any open windows - very convenient. However my current E91 3 series won't do this; you have to press the button next to the window controls to fold and unfold the mirrors. I'm not sure if this is model specific or just something which has changed in the 2 years between software releases.

AFAIK it has to be set up by a main dealer.

How much does it cost? Much as I hate paying for something which should be standard, it makes folding mirrors pretty pointless otherwise.
