Best Place to Camp

Hi,

I have got to get some camping passes, we were going to stay on Basejour with mates, but they are no longer going. We have not got any passes, We stopped on Basejour last year and it wasn't a bad camp, but a bit of a walk and Most annoying was a right royal pain in the ar*e to get out of - Traffic.

Year before we stopped in Blue Nord, that was better for traffic but ammenities were poor.

Ideas?

Well at this time of year it will be more about what you can get than what you want. Beasejour has tickets normally up to the weekend have even purchased on arival.

Ebay or PH classifieds may be your best bet for the 'nicer' campsites. Im in beausejour again this year and although its a litle rough around the edges it is still a good laugh.

What puts me off Blue is the absolute lack of any shelter from the elements. Houx/KN & HA look really really packed in these days and pretty rowdy. Beausejour has a much more relaxed vibe about it if you ask me. It's as good as any other campsite (people will try and argue this no doubt) and ok, it's a bit of a walk but then, it's very close to lots of naughty viewing spots from the woods and close to Arnage village.

Ask yourself realistically how many times in the day you'd actually do that (actually not very far) 30 min walk. Once up and once back really isn't it. And the ACO are expanding the fleet of noddy trains from 2 to 8 this year so you could catch one of them anyway.

Have you got the routes for the trains Guy? Been looking for some info on them but to no avail!

I think they are just circulating dude. It's France remember. Seriously doubt there's any type of scheduling going on!

You could always try Team Langoustine. It's our first time to Le Mans and they were really helpful.

BSJ is full too now, the only ones the ACO have left are the new sites which don't have showers!

After last year id say spay is great, although maybe 2 miles from Arnage (ok if you have a designated driver or dont plan to drink every day) its got good showers/toilets, plenty shelter, huge amount of space for the tents and cars and no danger of anyone causing damage to your pride and joy. Also cheap

I tried to get some tickets from the ACO but sent my form off really late, I got a letter back offering me Pinciblahblahblah and saying that was all they had left. I'd originally gone for KN, HA, MB or Beausejour in that order. In the end I got HA tockets from another source

Has anyone had dealings with JustTickets?

Yup, used them last year with no problems, but didn't buy from them this year because they wanted me to buy 2 general admission passes with each camping pass, but there are 6 of us going in 4 cars which would have meant we'd paid over the odds for them and got too many tickets!

Indeed, but it appears camping tickets are a bit more scarce than they have been in the past with the reduction in size of some of the sites so if you find an agency with the tickets you want it might be worth snapping them up to avoid having to pay eBay premiums.
