Sorry, another specification related question

My 335i had HK which was good, but expensive.

I found the standard set up in the 5 to be acceptable but wondered about the Professional or Hi Fi options and whether they were a sensible addition?

Having heard what the HK is like and also the options in X5 then I suspect you will fall into one of two camps on this one.

Fot those of us that go home and treasure all those hidden gems on good cd/amp set up then I think there is merit in looking at a quality car hi fi specialist to put in some decent and discrete kit.

Then there is the fact that some like a clean factory install, no messing, and no intrusting your pride and joy to Kevin and a chavalanche of his friends to bling your beemer.

I would favour the discrete and quality install by somebody good who knows there stuff, you don't want to see it, but some digital processing to clean the signal, some lovely quality rainbow/jl audio and some processors by them or audio control will soon get a lovely clean sound that has a great range and gives you a nice sound stage.
