Went there at sparrows fart on Saturday morning.

Really suprised how packed it is at 5.30am!

I bought a kilo of fresh tiger prawns for a fiver, a fresh large lobster for a fiver and a kilo of talapia fillets for 3 quid.

If you are into fish and leave close by its worth a visit (its behind Cnary Wharf) plus its very cheap too.

I don't care how cheap it is, I will never, ever, go shopping for fish at 0530 on a Saturday.

Given the circumstances described, you are excused.

Christ knows what would possess someone to go fish shopping at that time..

Would love to do this. Went to the market on Sunday thinking it would be first and produce only to find a load of tat.

As an isle-of-dogser, it is an easy run for me.

or the 200% markup there seems to be for transporting fish from billingsgate to london bridge!

i love the place, but some of the prices are a little 'entrepreneurial'!

if you know what to look for and how much you want to pay you can find a good deal (plus haggling is allowed!!)

I dont know the name of the guy I bought it off im afraid.

I got there for about 0515 and it was failry easy to get parked, but when I came out at about 0545 there was a long que to get into the car park.

Most of the stuff is sold in bulk so if you have friends or family that like fish its worth agregating an order. Most fish is sold by the box load.

You should try the courses they do, we did one a year or so ago and it was great. Guided tour, breakfast, knife skills and cooking all in one day - plus wine with what you cook.

Great fun
