i'm sat on the eurotunnel at calais, leaving in 4 mins. the engine warning light came on as I arrived at the terminal. I don't have my user manuam on board.

if someone could advise for when I arrive at folkestone, would be ace.

can I limp home to cambridge or am I calling recovery as soon as I land in uk?

thanks in advance, always the way, isn't it?

It is my understanding that as long as the MIL is not flashing then you can afford to limp it to a garage to have the code read. Static light is generally not panic stations straight away, best of luck!

Agreed ... static lamp most likely means the ECU has detected a emission or fuelling irregularity. It'll most likely disappear after half a dozen restarts or so.

If the MIL light is flashing... switch off, call the AA and retire to a safe distance!

Yup, mine occasionally comes on due to misfireing or sumthing like that, but it turns its self off after 12 full restarts! Would defz get it check'd out tho!

Thank you to all who responded. It was on solidly, so I drove home the 112-odd miles gently.

Several restarts later, it's still definitely staying on, so I'll contact Vindis Lotus tomorrow.

Incidentally, about 100km before it came on, I did fill the tank with a full 50 Euros worth of Shell V-Power 98, any chance that might be what's upset the emissions detector?

Thanks again,

Tol
