Repacking a Micron can

Evening folks.
I have a Micron race can for my kit car, only thing is I need to take it apart to turn the outer cover round to hide the seam, as it sits the opposite way round to that on the bike. Only thing is I can't get the bloody thing to come apart! I've undone the bolt inside the exit pipe, but it has had no effect what so ever. Do I just need to try harder? I don't want to break it, but I can't pull the end cap off! I've tried assisting it with a flat bladed screw driver, but this has no effect either.
PS it's a beta oval high level race can for a GSXR 1000 if it makes any difference.
