I subscribed to Pocketgpsworld and downloaded the POI files to my Nuvi (using Garmin's POI loader) but the Nuvi won't see the new data.

The files are loaded into the Nuvi's POI folder but are not listed in the loaded software (when I look under -system-/-about-) so its not seeing them...

... any tips please?

All POIs and cameras should be placed in a single file on your computer. When you use POILoader to upload them to your Nuvi, it will overwrite any existing data on your unit; this is why it's important to have everything you want to upload in a single folder.

Once uploaded, if you look in the POI folder on your Nuvi, you should find a single .gpi file, which will contain all the information for your cameras and POIs.

Should you wish to navigate to any of them, go to Where To - My Locations - Custom POIs and they should appear in there.

Thanks Del Boy! So I overwrite the existing Cyclops camera file that came with the Nuvi then? I suppose I'd better copy it somewhere just in case.

You shouldn't need to overwrite anything, as POILoader does all that for you. If I remember correctly, Garmin's own camera database is named differently to the file that POILoader creates and uploads, so there shouldn't be a conflict. However it's always a good idea to backup all the data on your satnav to your PC. It can take a little while, as the map file is quite large.

For your information, the file that POILoader creates is called poi.gpi and sits in the Poi folder on your Garmin. As long as your cyclops files are a different name, and I believe they will be, they won't get overwritten and will still be available if you want to use them.
