Heat shield

My heat sheild has got flakey on my S1. I've just done a search on Ebay and found this

Has anyone tried these and are they any good?

Not got one and don't think I would buy one either. Looks a bit small to me,also can see how it is attached. Personally, I'd remove the one you have and use it as a template to fashion one out of Nimbus heat shield material.

Is a flaky heatshield something which might cause the god-awful low rev metallic rattly vibration noise from underneath my car? Sorry for slight detour.

I think that you need an 'anti-fizz' bracket that I have previously bought from Bell and Colville - Stops part of the exhaust vibrating, I believe!
