My 93 4.0 Chimaera seems to feel like the rear tyres are bouncing in rapid sucession when slowing down sometimes.

I've changed the shocks to Gaz, changed the alloys to 18", fitted Toyos T1-R's a and checked the diff mounts but there doesn't appear any play.

Is this normal as I don't get it in the Cerb. I've got new lower rear wish bones to fit yet.

No grooved disks. I didn't really give it any beans with the old tyres on.

18" wheels! There's your problem. The tyre walls form part of the cars suspension. Take it away and the car will handle differently.
