First Alfa 8C Arrives

Manchester-based architect picks up his 8C

The first of just 41 Alfa 8C Competiziones destined for the UK has arrived.

The £138,500 hand-built Italian sportscar was collected by award-winning Manchester-based architect, Ian Simpson, from Alfa’s largest and longest established dealership, Mangoletsi, in Knutsford, Cheshire.

The 8C has a 4.7litre V8, producing 450bhp.

It is channelled through a sophisticated 6-speed F1-style paddle shift gearbox to the rear wheels.

Ian Simpson, who registered his interest in the 8C when the vehicle was first unveiled as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003, said: ‘This car is truly worth the wait.  It’s everything a supercar should be.

‘It’s unmistakably beautiful, it has a distinct engine note and the high performance credentials place it firmly alongside the most exotic cars on the planet. I am delighted and proud to be the first customer in the country to experience this incredible car.’

cash your way I take it smile

It a great looking car - price seems a bit steep to me but it does have serious performance credentials. It's up against some stiff Ferrari 430 shaped competition amongst others though...

All the best

Lucky guy, hope to see it around town sometime. Not bad for someone who designs glass boxes and olive groves at top of large towers (I'm not a bitter QS, honest whistle)

I am a big alfa fan and absolutely love the 8C!
BUT... what happened to the estimated 80-100k pricetag?

I mean thats still not cheap but it puts it in view of porsche and maserati not fezzas and lambos.
At these prices I would be seriously looking at the competition whereas where I expected it to be would have left it the outright favourite.

I guess the limited run number does tip the balance tho as I don' think you'll be a ble to get hold of these for love nor money so the exclusivity of it all is very attractive!

to be fair though, if you put that car in front of anybody, the first reaction would be "I want one", thats good enough for me!

It's the same reason why the Reventon can go for so much money... if they make it a limited run, they will all sell.

Bet they could sell the same number at 150 000 £.

PS: I want one! (not in black tough)

It's the most beautiful car you can buy new, end of story.
Also, you won't see another in a traffic jam in London, which is more than you can say about an F430 or a Gallardo.

Ditto on the price, god knows where that extra ££££'s have come from!

Thats gotta be the coolest bloke in Britain at the mo. i'd be sick if i'd just spent that money on a F430 or 360CS and that badboy pulled up beside me! Simply beautiful..

Considering one was going for £110k above list on ebay a while back and they sold out 4 times over, I think they got the pricing right wink

I pass that dealer every morning on the way to work, wish I had been able to take a look. You have to be a dedicated Alfa fan to spend that money though. I suppose thats the price of exclusivity.

It is a nice looking car.

Not sure if black is the right colour though.
