E30 M3 - advice on purchase

I already have a wanted ad in the classifieds but thought I would mention it here also. Any advice appreciated on what I should be looking for, no specific budget in mind although I'm hoping £12K should be enough to secure a good example.

First thing I would suggest is check for rust. They go all over the place. Scuttle is the big thing here. If repaired make sure done properly. Also check under the carpet in footwell, sills and even the numberplate lights surrounds.
