e46 M3 Bluetooth phone volume

Anyone else out there have problems with phone volume when connected through Bluetooth in an E46 M3? My M3 is a 2005 model is that makes any difference. I can make and receive calls but I can barely hear anything and neither the volume knob or the steering wheel up and dowm buttons make no difference at all! Essentially this means that I ahve to stop to take a call so that there is no road noise.

Local dealer was not much use - turn up the volume was the best they could come up with even after I told them that I had tried this already!

Any ideas welcome.

switch your mobile on and off and also disconect the blue tooth i mean delet the device and intrduce it again to the car ,i had the same and got sorted by delet and pairing it up again and you could always try it with someone elses phone
