Remember: Clean your filter!
Discussion
Today is the first day in months where good weather has coincided with me having very little to do. So, good excuse for a proper blast. Kids are back at school, mid afternoon traffic quite light and dry roads!
Purposefully didn't put any fuel in so I was keeping the tank as light as possible, checked the pressures and emptied all the odds and sods which had accumulated under the dash. Turned the phone off and went for it.
After about 20 minutes I came to the conclusion that the car was no longer "doing it" for me. Either that or I was just used to it. So I started thinking again about a big bike, stopped in town and stuck my head into the local bike shop. While idly chatting to the guy about Duc's etc I see on the shelf behind him a spray can of filter oil.
Suddenly dawned on me that the ITG filter hadn't been cleaned since the day I got the car. So dutifully bought the can of oil and went home.
On dismantling the carbon box I can only describe what was surrounding the filter as a "birds nest". There was so much crap it was falling out as I shook the air box. So, wash and rinse, wash and rinse, degrease everything, dry, re-oil and reassemble.
After 5 minutes hard driving
The sound is back, huge burbles and bangs on over-run and near gunshots on full throttle up changes. And, not surprisingly the throttle feels better, it revs more freely and the car feels like it's regained it's urgency.
Simple school boy error really but I bet some of you lot have forgotten as well!

I have been meaning to get round to it, just keep putting off as it looks like a pig to get off - mine is a Pipercross Kit on a 111R
This has been covered on SELOC last week, see thread here.http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=161800&...
