Spoke to one of the well respected tuners of Munich's finest today. He reckoned that once the tuners have gotten in to the 335i's ECU, 380bhp should be comfortable.

now I like the sound of that!

We did one at the weekend, 417bhp, 480ft/lbs.

Fairly agressive map, but even i was rather shocked!

It was a Juice box II tuning module.

There are far more powerful ones than that in the States.

Simple tuning box either Procede V2.02 or JBII seem to do the trick for over 400bhp. But be warned, the car will go into limp home mode quite a bit so cant be 100% healthy for the car.

Hi Charlie, thanks for a top day sat mate!

Evolution Sport (EVO-S) at Luton are advertising an ECU upgrade for the 335i that gives an extra 80bhp - cost is £810 including VAT. My brother in law has just had some work done on his E36 M3 by these people (including a remap) and was very happy with both their service and the results.

Not so sure about these tuning boxes though; hopefully you don't really spend a fair bit of time in limp-home mode but if you do why the hell would anyone buy one?!!

EVO-S have an actual re-map available? be the first tuning company bar ACS then who obtained theirs illegally from BMW!

Assume it's a remap based purely on what it says on their website although I haven't spoken to them to confirm.

My brother in law did quite a bit of research checking out different suppliers before the upgrades to his M3 were carried out and he seems pretty happy with the work these people have done. Therefore, EVO-S may well be worth a look if anyone's thinking of upgrading their 335i; the standard car isn't exactly slow but with the best part of 400bhp I suspect it would be quite a machine!

It sure is, but i dont believe for one minute what they are selling is a re-map. It will be a tuning module of sorts!

From what I understand, the engine has the potential to be up there with the M3's V8. Hence a certain reluctance on BMW's part to allow tuners to tinker with it...
