Has anyone on here, or does anyone know of anyone, who has replaced the standard 225 15" front wheels with 245 16"?

I have been told it can be done but spacers are needed. Do you know if it effects the lock to lock or rubs the wheel arches in any way?

I would recommend 225 tyres on those 16x7.5 rims. The extra width is all on the inside so it is likely to clear the bodywork but I can't tell you whether you will have any issues with steering lock. You could find out for yourself by simply putting one of your existing rear rims on the front?

You are describing a tyre size. The wheel size you are looking for is 15/7.5J & 16/7.5J This rim size will happily take tyre widths from 205 to 245. Having said that 245 is very big for Chimaera fronts and is bound to snag on the inner wheelarch at lock. I upgraded to 16" 225 and had to install stoppers on the steering rack to prevent contact at lock.

Or you can fit 3mm spacers from RallyDesign at Faversham. Cost less than a tenner and no need to change the wheel studs. Easy.

Have done the same 16" 225 with rack stops, got 245 on the rear but they would be over kill on the front and will probably make the steering heavier.

Thanks everyone for your advice. So it's 225 on the front . . . I'll give it a try.
