Coming along nicely Jon - just about the same state as the Herald at the moment (supercharger in the boot, bonnet on the roof and the wheels are currently used as garage seats!!)

Maybe it's just me, but I've never liked that style of tailpiece. It's the only thing I don't like about Chris Hartnell's car, too. Does it affect the aerodynamics enough to be worthwhile, or is there some other reason for it? Personally, I'd rather the 'chute was just exposed at the back of the rollcage, like the later front-engined Swamp Rats.

But that aside, the car's looking good, and seems to be coming along nicely. I can't wait to see it out on a track.

this is one car i'm really looking forward to seeing gracing the pages of Custom Car...[assuming they have been booked]. That back end is looking drop dead gorgeous and as for the shiney motor just the icing on the cake.

Fantastic work.

Everything's going as expected, LOL. Some people are trying to "big show" it as quickly as possible. I/we still have our own ideas of how to approach it, which I/we are more confident in every day with what we see NHRA and others doing.

I will say this. I was just visiting one of the builders of nostalgia bodies the other week. He and another are the two biggest. One has sold 48 bodies and the other has sold 43. He only knows of around 20 nostalgia funnies running with new bodies out of nearly 100. I think that means there's either an awful lot of projects out there that aren't getting finished or this thing's getting ready to explode.

That or, there's a lot more ways to build a chopper that I'm not aware of, LOL.

Have you had a belt on it yet? Someone was warning me about having a time getting the spacing right with the Pioneer front mag drive, which is what I plan on using.
