Time for me to sort the seats out (was hoping to go for full re-trim but cant really a££ord it at the momeny... bloomin' interest rate)
Was looking at www.furnitureclinic.co.uk £50 kit which does 2 seats.
Any experiences out there? The leather is in good condition - just needs colouring from mid greyish to doeskin.

This kit is brilliant: http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-108-featured-produ...

I've just finished doing my Chimaera seats and they've come up a treat.

Drop Smilerbaker a line - IIRC he used something to recolour from grey to cream...

I did indeed smile

got the kit from here

my camera isn't the best, the ones that look really yellow are becuase I used a flash, the seats are not that yellow lol, they are cream!!
PICT0105 is how they really look.

I coloured the worst seat first, eg it had loads of cracks and the bolster had no leather colour on at all, it was down to suede, PICT0109 shows the good seat, ie this was the best condition seat, PICT0111 shows the newly done drivers seat next to the passengers seat.

To change the colour was a lot of work, to just recolour is a lot simpler, I had to use lots and lots of coats to get rid of the dark grey. But they did come out well.

Dont even for 1 second think about doing it with the seats still in the car, it made a hell of a mess in my garage!! also don't use the supplied cans of air, use a compressor (they will give you extra dye instead, which is handy)

the kit is water based, so any runs etc can be sorted easily, lots of light coats, don't go mad, follow the instuctions to the letter and you'll be fine. These are rover seats, which as it turns out contain very little leather, the backs and sides are vinyl which took far more dye then the leather to cover but other then that still came out the same.

Oh and the 2 seat kit WONT be enough if your changing the colour.
