I posted an item in the classifieds last night (a TVR Tuscan handbook) and immediately got an email saying my ad had been posted and I checked and there it was. Then I looked a while later and it wasn't there and in my "manage my ads" section it says waiting for approval.

I emailed back last night and agin this morning asking what had happened and have heard nothing. In the FAQ it says that you check the ads and this "typically takes an hour".

If you wish to take days checking ads before posting why bother to send an email saying the ad is live and why say that checking takes an hour? Seems pointless and a waste of everyones time.

I haven't got access to the email address you sent the email too as out of the office, so is it possible to give me the advert ID and I will have a look at why it has removed itself.

I have made the advert live.

I am suprised that you got an email saying that the advert was live on the site and not an email saying that the advert has been sent for approval, as the advert was sitting in the approval queue. I will investigate that.

To answer your question on timescales of approving adverts, we currently have over 2000 adverts added a day and sometimes an advert will be caught by one of our scam filters and put into the approval queue like yours did. This list can get big and thus it does take some time to work through them, but we are always working hard to reduce the time to approve adverts in the queue and to reduce the amount of genuine adverts being sent to the approval queue.

This is the text of the email I received. The subject headline was "Published TVR Tuscan 2 handbook". Which, together with the bopdy of the email would lead one to think it had been published. wink

No problems with all that you have said Pete. Maybe you just need to look at the auto response emails that are sent out?
