Anyone going to see them in Brixton this Sat? Girlfriend and I are meeting a mate there - should be bloody excellent!

Saw Archenemy at Bloodstock last year, and have seen Opeth several times now.

Anyone know what Devildriver and 3 Inches of Blood are like?

Where's the best place to park? Any local knowledge?

Seen Opeth a few times - v good, although their songs are a tad long for live shows.

Devildriver are standard nu-metal angst stuff. 3 inches of blood are interesting though - have seen neither live, but have their albums.

Sounds liek you are in for a good night smile

Ill be going. Im the bloke with long hair and a beard tongue out

Really though, my beard is bright red atm so ill actually be fairly easy to spot if anyone wants to say hello!

My mates managed to get a VIP pass. Im very jealous.

3 Inches of Blood are pretty good fun in an old thrash kinda of style as long as you dont mind things not being at all serious. They will probably cancel yet though as this is the 4th time im supposed to see them somewhere and every other time they have...

Devildriver. Really not bothered about myself.

The first time I went to Brixton Academy I used the Tube. The next time I chose to drive because of the upgrade work going on, which meant that there were no trains after about 10:00pm. Having found a multi-storey car park just a few minutes walk away, I will not be using the Tube again (especially as driving all the way knocks about half an hour off my total journey time). Details are:-

Brixton multistorey car park
Lambeth operates a multistorey car park with 380 spaces, situated in Canterbury Crescent, to the rear of Brixton Police Station. There is also access through Wiltshire Road.

The car park is within a short walking distance to both Brixton mainline station and Brixton tube. It's conveniently situated less than five minutes away from Brixton Academy and Brixton's other main attractions.

Opening hours
The car park operates from 7am until 11:30pm, Monday to Saturday, and is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Charges
£1.60 for up to 1 hour
£3.20 for over 1 hour and up to 2 hours
£4.20 for over 2 hours and up to 3 hours
£5.20 for over 3 hours and up to 4 hours
£6.50 for over 4 hours and up to 5 hours
£10.50 for over 5 hours and up to 7 hours
£12.50 for over 7 hours and up to 9 hours
£15.60 for more than 9 hours, or for a lost ticket.

Thanks chap.

Does that mean that if the gig ends later than 11.30, my car will be locked in overnight?!

Are there no 24 hour car parks around there?

It wont go later than 11 unless somethings gone wrong as that will be the curfew. Driving seems tempting now forgot the trains probably going to be a mess.

I wouldn't bet on that, Down were still on stage at 11:30 when I left a couple of sundays ago!

Been there 3 times so far this year (Korn x 2, Velvet Revolver) and all finished just after 11:00, so no problem getting back to the car in time. I'm surprised Down were still on at 11:30, and wouldn't think that was the norm.

Didn't spot anyone with a red beard.

What did you think of the new Opeth song? Were you up top or down below?

Down below.

Quite liked the new Opeth song but that set was nowhere near as tight as they usually play (seem them a few times). Enjoyed the setlist though, Wreath was pretty awesome in particular for me.

Thought Arch Enemy played a good show, enjoyed them a lot. Not sure Opeth and Arch Enemy are so great together as the styles are very differeny.

For someone who really didnt care about Devil Driver they pleasantly surprised me. No much dynamic range though its all pretty much a brutal assault the whole way, or thats how it seems to someone who didnt know any of their stuff.

All in all was a good gig for me I enjoyed it. Vader tomorrow to look forward to now.

We were in the heavens.

G/F took a header down a step and buggered her ankle, thus we missed everything after Arch Enemy.

Oh well, hoping for some nearby gigs when they tour for the new album!

I can wait for the new album. Feel it's only fair to pay for their work.

Ill probably buy it anyway as I got a voucher code thing to use on the site for a special edition. But I have to have it now if I can get hold of it thats the thing.

Next tour is in November, Ill probably go to a couple as they seem to change the setlists a fair amount based on the last tour.
