Has anyone ever had an EVO( with usual leather & aircon ) on a weigh bridge ? Handbook says 1515kg for 2dr and 1535 for 4dr ~ Autocar test said 1471Kg for 2dr and fairly recently EVO magazine measured 1460kg before stripping out a 3.0 2dr to turn into a track car. I know that some of the early EVOs had aluminium doors too but I'm not sure what weight this option would have saved. I'm curious to find out how light it would be possible to make an EVO whilst keeping the creature comforts.........

Tricky to answer this due to different measurement methods ( with or without driver + tank of fuel etc etc ) but I'm sure one of the MPOWER forum's oracles has the answer.

Thanks in advance.

^^^ Good starting point but don't expect DVLA, or any HGV type weighbridge for that matter, to be mega accurate. The only thing to do for an accurate measurement is to corner weight the car.

I can tell you my E46CS comes in @ 1550kg on a full tank.. no driver.. according to the scales @ the local Scrappy.. wink

He tells me these are calibrated and sealed...

But im not sure if he was buying or selling on the day ...!

If you're taking your car to Bexleys ask them to stick it on the scales for you whilst it's there.

Simple.

You can get them down to 1050-1100 kilos.. the 4 pots are a bit lighter than the 6's...

I timed a stripped out E30 and a E46 CSL at silverstone on my last outing.. both were lapping in 2'21's... pretty impressive for a 20 yr old car..

Beat me by 9 seconds on the day..! both were on slicks tho'..

My car was recently weighed (at Bexley) at approx 1350kg with a half a tank of fuel. The changes to the car were the removal of the all the seats and replaced with bucket seats to the front. Also removed the rear door cards and all boot linings (incl spare wheel). Air con, stereo, carpets, centre armrest and console, headlining and front door cards remained.

Have since stripped out a lot more so now comforatbly in the mid to high 1200's and still have the air con in place and road legal.

1100 is easily acheivable but would essentially be a race car by then.

Getting down to 1100kgs or under is actually quite difficult.
