Porsche Gets The RS
Report: Porsche wants Audi to keep to the letter
More Audi-ish news I’m afraid – this time they may be getting into trouble with big daddy Porsche.
Development of the Audi TT RS may already be underway but according to reports Porsche has been issuing some slapped wrists.
The issue, apparently, is that while Audi might use the letters RS as a prefix, using it as a suffix is taking the Michael.
Porsche is said to be unhappy because the RS nameplate has been used after a model name for years and it denotes the ultimate in that range.
Porsche is understood to be calling on Audi to use the RS at the beginning, as in RS TT, but will they play ball, and more importantly, who cares?
According to sources the internal debate is far from over and the chances of an RS TT are now looking likely.
But why should Porsche be bothered though? 2 Different brands bought for 2 different reasons.
People know the difference between a Audi & a Porsche, so why get their knickers in a twist over this. Sounds silly to me.
