I've just bought myself an MR2
Discussion
A black Mk2 Rev2 to be precise. Who needs back seats anyway?
Bought from the Bay for peanuts, so expecting to maybe need to fix some niggles. For example, there's a small amount of goo in the oil filler cap. Might just be condensation, and it runs OK (it has a stainless 'zorst, so sounds a bit fruity anyway), but how much would you generally pay for a gasket replacement?

So go for a nice long drive (with breakdown cover), and see if it go's away.
Any excuse

What's the mileage on it etc?

Think you're looking about £300ish for a HG replacement.
Hmm. Not *that* bad... but a touch annoying if it is gone. Wonder how hard it is to do myself :PGizmo535 said:

I asked them if they checked the head, they said it was fine. Cue a month of the car being off road and them checking the cooling system blah blah and me bagning on about the head.
Turns out the head was ridiculously warped
so if i were you i'd get the head skimmed anyway. MrFlibbles said:

Sadly the clutch is definitely - technical term - b
ksed. And Mr Toyota quoted me £1000 to fix it.
Anyone know a good clutch place? I'm wondering whether - if it's going to cost me that much - I might get an upgraded one while I'm there...

That's silly money, I'd expect to pay more £400.00-£500.00 depending on where you are you could check out Rougue Systems who specialise in GT4's and MR2s.
http://www.roguemotorsport.com/Services/mk2naservi... they charge about 300 quid for a clutch change on the n/a.

fensport are the daddies when it comes to Toyota. Great choice. No doubt you'll get the hairdresser tag, and all that, but it really is a great bit of kit. Comfier, faster, and in my opinion, a lot more precise than the MX5 which it seems to be compared to on a regular basis. The turbo is way quicker in the straight bits, but in th twisties, there is nigh on nothing in it. Good choice sir It also has a decent boot, considering the engine placement!
You could.....change the clutch yourself, and while you're there swap the 3SGE/3SGTE for the 3L 24V Aluminium V6 from the Camry (cheap as chips auto repmobile)! You know it makes sense, the box etc stays the same.
