Mk1 lcd screen (pod)

Hi folks,

I've recently replaced my lcd screen following the useful guide on here. Everything worked fine until today, when I took it out for a spin. Now the back ground gets increasingly darker, & I was wondered if anyone had encountered the same problem? Cheers.

Do you mean the back light goes dark, or the pixels get dark?

mine does that over a long journey.

Leave it for a while and it all comes back fine.

If it's the backlight, I had a problem on mine which was caused by a poorly soldered joint on the PCB for the LCD screen.

Sorry, the pixels go dark when I've been driving for over an hour or so. I wondered if anyone knew of an easy fix.

Hello all

Got the car back from TVR- power i had the E-prom done WAW!! Fab.

But when night time came it looks like the back light has gone but the speedo numbers at the outer eage all light up ok but the old square box in the middle do's not light up????

Is there any step by step gide showing how to take apart the pod and the bits that need fixing???
