I'm Googling like mad here, but coming up with nothing. I'm trying to find an accessory that can be plugged into or wired into the bike that will provide me with a powered usb socket. I want it to charge my phone/camera/gps when touring, but I can't find them for sale anywhere. I'm sure I've seen them before so they must exist.

I've got a couple for the car that plug into the cigarette lighter socket so could butcher one of those, but I was hoping for a neater solution.

Can anyone confirm that these do exist and know where I can find one?

Never seen a straight to USB one.
I have a DIN socket next to my clocks and have a cable that plugs in to that with a fag lighter socket on the other end that sits in the side pocket of my tank bag. I can then plug in my phone charger or use one of the USB adaptors like you already have to charge the iPod.
These guys do a good range of kit http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/home/homepage.php

Thanks for that, but that one runs from a car cigarette lighter, which I don't have on the bike. I could get one, like Rizzo has set up, but I was hoping to avoid that to keep the wires/connectors/sockets to a minimum. Looks like I'll just have to butcher a car usb charger and wire it directly to the bike myself.

it would be easy to have a cig socket on the bike,
either add the wire to one yourself or get one like this

cut the croc clips off and replace with lugs and connect to your battery

If you can solder you could make one for a quid. This gives you the basics of using a voltage regulator and a cap to smooth the 12v...

...and then you just need a usb socket, a small box to put it in and you're done. You'd probably want a heatsink on that regulator too.
