OK 2006 SV650S in Red with 12k on the clock. Scuffed front fairing from a car park drop, Remus can, tail tidy, R&Ds, Datatool S4 alarm, FSH, new chain and sprockets, needs new front tyre.

Part ex value £2295

Against a mint 2002 ZX636R in kwak green. Crash bungs and choice of... Alarm OR 2 year warranty OR 2 year GAP insurance.

£3295 - cost to change £1000 = 8 months extra on my finance agreement.

What do you think & why? Cheers guys....

You're going 4 years older and paying 1k for the privilege? I would sell yours privately.

up to you in the end. if you got the cash and want to then go ahead. I changd from a Fazer 600 to triple as it was a bike I wanted for years.

best bet to take a few test rides like me just to make sure its what you want

Yeah... I might be making a mistake going through a dealership... parkers value for used ZX636r is a grand less than they're asking. And i could probably get a grand more for my bike...

I'm just reading reviews and tbh i think the 2003 zx636 is more like what I want to move on to anyway.... and something is telling me not to sell the SV!

I'm not sure i can bring myself to get rid of the SV!!! certainly not for an older bike that gets mixed reviews... i'm not allowed a test ride either which sort of seals the deal.

shame because i got really excited in the shop (how the dealers make their money i think!!!)

sorry chaps, think i'm going to have to wuss out this time frown

I could understand that with a private seller (unless you put down a sizable guarantee or can show fully comp insurance for the test ride) but when buying from a dealer, I'd tell them to FRO if they said no test ride.

They gave me some BS about putting extra milage on the bike!! Then said that they have a 14 day cooling off period, but limited to 100 miles - and then I could swap for a bike in the stock of the same value.

Not keen on that at all!!
