BRISTOL TO READING....

I am collecting an old Sylva Leader (70's 7 style kit car) from Bristol on Sunday. I have sorted out my route from Hungerford to Reading, how about some good secondaries heading east out of Bristol?

I think if you join Hungerford to Marlborough to Chippenham to Bristol then you'll be doing OK. Not stunning all the way I grant you but better than the M4.

If you've got time then you could throw in one of my favourite triangles which roughly runs Marlborough > Rockley > Broad Hinton (almost, turn left onto the A4361 before you reach BH) > Avebury.

Top Gear used to use the Marlborough > Broad Hinton stretch for road tests a lot back in the pre-Stig days and you still see it occasionally in magazines.

If you have more time, take B3098 from Westbury to Rushall/Upavon, then take the road (A345 I think) to Marlborough, and then the nice bit of A4 to Hungerford.
