Just been washing the car and the indicator fell off, front passenger side. On inspection there is a round plastic "thingy" that is held in place by a rivet but the area around the rivet has cracked therefroe the round plastic thing can move.
Any ideas where i can get a new one and how much it will cost?

dont know where , but you were luck that it happened washing. Some peeps have had it come off on the motorway and it clanks around the front and scratches the paint frown

Lotus dealer, they'll be well used to fitting them. They've done 3 for me so far. The design sucks frankly. had 2 come out at speed, which can rip the cabling out apparently. Can't remember the cost, as the only one I paid for was on my old car and the service records went with the car. 60 quid rings a bell though!

No need to pay, fix the current one back in with some bungee chord and have done, you get a new one, it'll do the same unless you shave some of the clam off as well.

Have a look at this thread

On the bungee chord, I read a similar thread where the solution was to redrill the clip and use a bungee to attach it to the car - a bit tricky but a permanent solution?

Some cracking Blue Peter type tips on that link. I tried some silicone but it ended up everywhere and took me ages to get off the car. Will get my Engineer at work to have a go tomorrow.

Wasnt the big white P clip and a rivet a dealer/Lotus bodge ?

My front left indicator popped out twice in 9 months. I have now reserved myself to carrying a reel of duck tape everywhere with me tongue out

Top Tip discovered today.

I melted the plastic on the inside of the indicator casing where it was cracked and also on the P Clip to the casing around the rivet area. The clip is now stuck like sh*t to a blanket and has gone back in the car fine. It isnt a permanent fix and will do until i get my new one.

My method is not too disimilar to fixing Subbuteo players back to the base when i stood on them as a kid !!!

got a new one through the post today from CN and the flimsy P Clip is no longer on the modified version. It is a moulded plastic clip type thingy instead. Not put it on the car yet as the soldering iron trick seems to have done the job but i am sure it will still fit.

Solution: Sell S2, buy S1.... our indicators don't fall out... and they're cheap to replace smile

Get pissed off with it because it has fallen out x times in one journey, stop at a garage, buy superglue and "hey presto" no more problem.

(new ones are £65)

Does Elise two front indicators x 2 mean that he is selling 4 for £75??

In fact looking at the pics closer they look like they have the old P style clips on and are not the modified versioon.Perhaps it is my eyesight?
