Steering rack bushes?

Just reading the bible in preparation for refitting my steering rack, it mentions bolts AND rubber bushes, now when I removed the rack there where no bushes just bolts straight into the chassis. Should there be bushes and they have (unlikely) just perished or B just not been fitted? Would check on my Chim but on holiday, how sad taking the Chim/Griff Bible with me lol

I found no bushes on my Griff.

Just took my rack out. It's just held in place with M8 hex setscrews and two washers.

ok, sounds like its fine then, the holes in the rack are a good deal bigger than the bolts so there is quite a lot of movement before the bolts are tightened so the alignment is a bit hit or miss.
