Pranksters fool F1 boss
MONTREAL - A pair of radio station pranksters got through to Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone Monday posing as Prime Minister Jean Chrétien.
They got Ecclestone to say Canadian racing star Jacques Villeneuve is grossly overpaid.
Sébastien Trudel and Marc-Antoine Audette of radio station CKOI told Ecclestone that Canadians are angry about tobacco advertising rules that cost Montreal next summer's Formula One race.
They said Canadians are also upset over the dismal racing season of the Quebec-born Villeneuve.
The bogus Chrétien asked about a possible job with Formula One after his retirement.
Ecclestone suggested that a communications job in North America, where the Grand Prix is "not strong," could be possible.
The pair, known as the Masked Avengers, has previously tricked Villeneuve, Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Bill Gates.
