Forum Advertising...Assistance Needed.

Hello

I was wondering if you can help me (again) basically i have a new forum...nothing too serious but it needs members on it.

How could i get people to sign up to the forum? I understand that you need topics to get people to post but without people to post topics its very hard to get people to post lol.

What i need is advice from people who currently run sucessful forums and perhaps they could give me an insite into how they got started.

Advertising wise i need to keep the cost v.low so any free ways to advertise would be great suggestions.

Finally I'll give you an idea of the numbers, i created the forum couple of saturday's ago and it currently has 3 members (which are new, new members not friends)

So not massive numbers lol...

Please do not say "o you will fail with and phpbb venture etc...etc"

First put a link in your profile on PH to your forum.

Second get a copy (free) of web ceo link here http://www.webceo.com/?source=Partners

Get it submitted to search engines

Who is your target member? ie what area of interest?

Write some articles (posts) yourself to get the ball rolling

We did a very successful forum recently and the owner got some flyers made and handed them out at Goodwood.

Without a bit of detailed info its hard to be of more help

Forums need feeding. That's why PH's forums are fed by the news.

What you've created is an empty room with a sign on the door. Don't even think about advertising until you have some visitors. To be honest, I think you need a slightly stronger proposition all round.
