A Chance Encounter.............

Don't normally see GTRs about, do ya?
So,flew passed one in a garage today, I spun the car round and ran upto the owner, like an excited school kid!!
'Hi,I'm LuckyP!', expecting an acknowlegment!!!
'I'm sorry?'
'PistonHeads - LuckyP, you know?' - what a prat!!
Anyway, got chatting, and the guy is Richard Skinner, a silver factory built GTR bought used from a guy in Dec last.
He's a Nurburgring veteran, and will show us all the way round at our July visit!! Great!! He stays with Sabine Schmitt's mum, and knows all the tricks.
Forgot I had my camera until it was too late..........

Whoops - not one of my finest
I've given him the PH massive details, so he should be along soon to make a proper intro!!
May I be the first to welcome you to the fold Richard!!

If he's in with Sabine, do you think she could be talked into having a go one of the cars going in July, not to get a fast time or anything like that, of course, but just to show how stuffing the Top Gear lap time wasn't a one off!
Hi Tim, can you confirm what days we are going and where we are staying, 'an that. I tried to search the thread, but failed.Hi all, unfortunatley i will not be going the ring on those dates mentioned in july. Why? because the truck g.p is on at the new circuit and the whole village will be rammed with the whole world and his wife.I hve tried umpteen hotels within a 15 mile radius and they are all fully booked! For those of you who are going for the first time, i think you will be disappointed.I dont want to rain on anyones parade , but there are certain times when you need to avoid these big events.I am looking to go out on 16,17,18 june< so if anybodys interested then let me know.Look forward to seeing you all at stonleigh.Richard.

Good to meet you, Michael and young Tom yesterday Richard, it was emotional
Tim and P: After discussing said Nurburgring trip with the fellas above, it transpires that there will more than likely be another trip in September that may be more suitable for us to attend, what say you?
Yes bud. Better for me. I might have got an engine by then!!

You have an engine now P, it is in a thousand bits and pieces on CD's floor
Now that the Ring-fing has been put on the September back burner, are you up for the Classic on the weekend of July 12th/13th?

^^^ That has given me an idea
I am going to try and get MY old school Porker up and running and we might be able to indulge in our own little 'Pork fest' ( doesn't sound to Gay does it? ), what do you think?
The only downside is that my old 911 is, as you know, r e d
Let us try and keep this little snippet between ourselves eh

Well fellas, I think I will have to leave the september trip for now as there are other commitments about then, but keep the info coming as it may be ok. I think I am going to try and go over to the ring through a week in july and get some evening runs in as the weekends seem to be few and far between, and overly busy when they are available, so will let you know what it is like.HI guys', good to meet you all on sunday.Pete, Wayne, keith and co.i understand that the ring dates are not gonna suit everybody but i will post them later this week.looks like 18 19 of june ish.
