Spotted ....sort of???
Discussion
I went home this weekend and i was chatting to a few mates i havnt seen in a while. A couple asked why i didnt pop in when i was home last weekend and another asked have i had the week off??? My answer was i havnt been home in 2 weeks and i was at work all week. They said there is another Ro like mine in town then. Now Shaftesbury is small town and these guys arent to hot on there cars so i can excuse them ( i hope ) when this morning in Tescos with my mate, he pointed out the other Ro in town. Same colour, very similar rims, similar exhaust so yeah he isnt far off except..........it was a fecking Calibra!!!!!!!!
I really need to educate my mates more

as an ex calibra (company car no less) driver I can see the similarities in the shape. Thing is how many Ro's are rusty, have "CALIBRA" written down the side, in 2 foot letters ('tis true!) and make 100 mph seem like you are about to take off?
Granted in its day the Calibra was a good car, but blimey your mates need glasses!

Parked recently in some random village in North Wales. Listening to two locals standing up close and wondering what it was. Even though they were reading the word Monaro -'...what is it?...Dunno...Reckon it's a Calibra...Yeah you could be right'
As a North walean local, I have to say not everyone is oblivious to the obvious! (well, about 90% of us are!)
Sorry, didn't mean to cast dispersions on the very nice folk in North Wales. Infact, the footnote to that story was that the pub land-lord from the same village wouldn't let me leave until he knew all about what it was, where it came from, what was under the hood and how the heck I could afford to fill the tank.
Had a chuckle today and it reminded me of this thread.
I went into Texaco garage, near monkfish, the assistant said without any pleasantries "What is it? Some sort of Calibra..?
Couldn't hold myself together so just said, "er no, its australian", left it at that and walked off.
Who says this forum is dull?! it made me smile anyway!

Ha ha, one of my mates said it's like a Calibra. I can't see it myself.
I just did a goole search to remind myself and come across this (probably seen it before but I haven't):

I swear Auto Express invent about 5 new cars a week that will never see the light of day.
I subscribed for a while, and then realised that most of the new car images in the magazine are mockups (including the ones that pretend not to be, if you see what I mean).
