Why not buy an MX5, they do a DB7 kit for that. It'll be so much cheaper & still look just like a DB7 (if you stand far enough away, it's dark, and you squint a bit).

thats a great idea, post some pics when you have done it.

On another note does anyone know if a porsche carrera GT front end could be grafted onto my 1989 911, i think it would look great. Or alternatively would an Audi R8 front fit on my RS6 or is that just ridiculous?

I have to say I think you're crazy, unless you're planning on keeping the car for a very long time dont bother, save the money & put it towards a db7

Could I fit a Ferrari Dino front end to my Raleigh Chopper ?

Take a classic car, chop it about a bit and make half of it look like half of another classic car.
What planet are you from ?
Do it as if you mean it or don't bother.

Can I fit a Humvee front end onto my Mini ?
Probably.
But why ?

Now that I think about it I can see a market for the Raleigh Chopper Dino...

well guys i just cant see the prob here, just think it would look good coz there practicaly the same car but with some small differences( well sort of) i like the back end of the xk and the front of the db7, and can only afford even a cheap xk but would love the aston, so this is a good idea in my eyes (if i can do it lol) and i plan to keep the car as long as it serves me without it becoming to big a hole in the pocket, plus it'll give me something a little different, dont like to be the same as everyone else, but mabie ill prove some of u wrong eh

I always thought that the DB7 was more like the XJS, expect to look at. Are you sure all the front dimensions are right?

DB7 is based on a shortened XJS platform

XK8 was entirely different. That was developed from the X300 aka XJ40 floorpan.

Anything is possible but it would take the skills of a very good fabricator & would cost a forture to do properly.

The TV advert where the indian lad bashes up his hindustan? to look like a pug 206 springs to mind here!!

Here in Palm Beach Fl,I am seeing a trend of Hummers with Escalade fronts and they don't look half had, but, and I may be wrong, wouldn't the cost of the XK and the job pretty much equal a DB7? There's got to be a good deal floating out there, I would try ebay or other places and see if you can find a DB7 for you. If you cant and do the job, put up some pics, this looks like it could be interesting.

ye well thats why i posted this, i just thought that coz the cars both had the same designer and they look the same apart from the obvious lol, that they would have very similar dimentions and that maybie the bumper would mostly fit apart from some fabrication, which if was'nt to drastic i could do my self, or it would take far to much work and should just abandon it , so if anyone is "in the know"about this then please let me know

Actually I think I've seen pictures of a body kit on an XK with included the Aston Martin "hat" style grill. Know idea who did it, wasn't really interested.

Probably Zeemax, but in my opinion that looks horrible. To the OP, don't bother, just save up for a DB7 or modify your XK8, like what I did biggrin
