Hi

Has anyone ever had any experience of this? And does anyone have any tips on getting effective/beautiful shots?

Can a shoot be done in the home? What can i use for props? etc.

Thanks

N.B This is only for fun not business related lol.

I'm not sure quite what angle you're going for but one option is to join a site like model mayhem and browse the photographers and models profiles to pick up ideas on locations.

Hi

I'd like to take pictures more towards the fetish side...

Do you have a link for that site?

Depends on the fetish but you could look at sites such as the adult websites like easygals and look at their photos sections as they cover every fetish and sexual desire - clearly not safe for work and I hope given the context of the thread it doesn't get me banned.

My first advice would be don't ask on a motoring forum how to get into fetish photography...

As for a link for model mayhem - try typing model mayhem into google. It's not difficult!

Google "Photographic models". Just tried it and there seems to be quite a few studios around the country. I'm sure the girls attached to them have varying levels of service they can provide....

Petrol have you actually tried googling anything yourself yet?
If not, may I suggest this career path is not for you.
I would have thought to be a fetish photographer you would need to at least have a passing interest in the subject matter.
It is quite specialist, its not like you are just roaming the country looking a nice landscape and sunset lol

Let's say for arguments sake you get a very good looking model and an excellent location to take portrait/nude photographs. You might under these circumstances get some nice nudes.

Now factor in the fetish part. If you put her in a cheap Ann Summers PVC nurse outfit, you are going to end up with photos of a girl in what is clearly a cheap outfit - fit maybe for a catalogue but not much else.

I'd say it becomes a case of how deep are your pockets or how good are your connections? If the answer to both of these is "not very", than you don't have much chance of becoming an exceptional fetish photographer I fear.

Look at the work of Helmut Newton. As someone has said already, styling is key. If you don't have deep pockets, a lively imagination and a decent location it could look like 'Readers' Wives'.

The one question the OP is not asking is: where can I get girls from?

Can we assume from this that he/she has a ready supply of subjects (male, female ... or otherwise) and what the OP lacks is imagination and props? yikessmile

Getting girls is relatively easy to be honest. There is no shortage of girls willing to have their photographs taken on model websites; of course, very few of them have any experience at all and those that do think they're Kate Moss and want £100/hr.

All in all, it's a big old industry out there and one that you can't just point your camera at and click snap.
